if you like sweet wines like red wines, I would go for any "Rose" champagne. Taste is similar to Pinot Noir.
"Henriot" rose is one good brand and comes with in your price range.($60 range)
"Mumm" (DH. Mumm) is also good.($55).If you like white wines, then also "Henriot" blanc is good one. "Drappier" is another good one.
Above are foreign brands. However california is big wine producer. So you may find many local brands there. I hesitated to give names before because taste is unique to person. What I like may not impress you. But these are decent brands for taste..

If What I heard is true, Lagadapati alone has around Rs 100 Crs in bets (various ones like his own victory, overall state & national level numbers etc, all in favor of congress). So, looks like he is very upbeat!

TDP survey is the best. The total doesn't add up to 294. the total is not coming up to 270. Someone in TDP doesn't know elemetary school math or they are pulling these numbers from their backside.

I did not want to respond to you until may 16th for a long time.
However your comments making me to do this one time before results.
1) People go wrong many times. That may not require any apologies. That does not show any lack-of-knowledge like you said. My wife is a cardiologist and she tells me that no doctor is 100% right in their cath lab. If the doctor goes wrong that does not make him ignorant. Just bad decision in that instance.
2) Stopping to read news papers just because they go wrong in their prediction is not right.They do it for many reasons. You and I do not see eye to eye on this, but if sakshi was lying about their 99 in phase 1 prediction or Eeenadu was lying about 125 in phase 2 maha tadaaka (By the way, Eenadu archives are not working. If any one can verify this that would be great), there is an ulterior motive. That is to energize the base.
3) One does not have to stay away from politics just because they loose in their predictions. That is a fundamental right.
4) The reason I asked for bets - monetary that is - is to see how confident people are about their predictions. Not to make easy money or other reasons. To me most of the people are reading analysis in their favorite paper and guessing. Some people like HYF do have sources.
Having said that I am still confident of congress majority. The reasons I mentioned here are not to save my face in case of defeat.
If congress looses, I will still read Sakshi. I will still love YSR. I will NOT admit that I have lack of knowledge.
If congress looses, I will be devastated. I will curse people of Andhra. I will say that people deserve their fate. After few weeks, I will be normal. Then I will resume my normal activities again. (These are typical human reactions to Shock. Denial, Question, Depression and Normalcy).

i always say that to my friends who are mostly TDP fans... if congress really loses badly and TDP does well, i will come forward and accept openly that ppl got pissed off on last 5 yrs govt and i am blind to see that... but for everything i say, they look for excuses like congress spends money, do rigging, bought candidates in trs/prp.. see these are silly excuses... everybody knows who spent more in this election.. there is no scope of rigging whatever it is totally minimized, what crap of buying candidates in trs/prp?? who are prp candidates?? ex tdp ex congress e kada? vallu ammudu pothe adhi valla tappu and a failure of those parties to not able to identify right candidates... and didn't CBN bought TRS?? its part of politics.. these childish excuses are meaningless even before results come... YSR has to face a strong kootami on one side and an actor who has so much following & charisma & spotless image on other side.. its quite natural the masses get carried away with filmy glamour.. our ppl are not matured yet totally.. there is telangana sentiment and YSR stood against it... majority kapus who support congress will be taken away by new party.. with so many things against him YSR is fighting a lone battle single handedly.. instead of giving credit if we come up with silly excuses no body can help..
even when so many things are against, i will come forward and say ok ppl are not conviced with congress and accept the defeat if we lose miserably... but if we are single largest party i wish others too to accept that they are blind all the while because of the yellow media effect..

Our family is strong Supporters of Anti Congress Parties (Janatha and then TDP). I used to read only Eenadu till 2005. When CBN lost his elections, I was so upset and I wrote a mail to TDP President for preparing for 2009 Elections. I started a Yahoo group and then Orkut group for TDP. As my profession is research, I started digging the reasons for downfall of TDP. In that process, I come across many articles by P.Sainath and other researchers. Then, I realised how the Yellow media made all our AP educated people Impotents.

When the alliance was reversed in 2004, TDP was loner and got 45 seats. Now with alliance and PRP in the ring, all the exit polls including yellow media are giving atleast 90-100 to congress.
That shows how much support YSR gathered from common people in the last 5 years.
India, especially AP is an agriculture based economy. The development of any country starts with these two as foundation and goes from there. From 1995-2004, agriculture was completely neglected, 1000s small scale factories from AP went to Gujarat.
But some (read as TDP apologists) refuse to talk about them showing some roads in AP and some modern buildings in hi-tech city.
Well, talk is cheap. We will have the results in less than 48 hours. GOD SPEED TO YSR.

Like I said many of my wife's side relatives are in TRS. Because they are from Telangana. Rumor that I heard from them is that Sonia is that we may have different CM. Thats what bothered me.

Was watching at NDTV analysis live today too and noted some interesting points:
1) The percentage of vote split between MP and MLA in Andhra Pradesh is very less i.e. 1% but in Orissa it is completely different.
2) The analysis Shekar Gupta and Prannay Roy were telling was a person voting for one party MLA we definitely vote for MP too... this margin of a guy cross voting in Andhra is 1% which is very very less.
3) This margin in Orissa was 3-4% so that would tilt the assembly figures much i.e in assembly Naveen Patnayak is going to win but coming to MP's he is going to get only 9/21 and congress is going to get 10/21 and NDA 2/21.
3) So my gut feeling is if they are predicting 29 MP's for Cong in AP and 1% cross voting, then we will definitely be placed above magic figure i.e. 148.

Sarma - Though I don't agree with all your comments, I got the gist of what you said. Well, our reactions may be different.
Srikanth - Thanks & I agree - If Congress win in Assembly polls - all the telugu media houses that have been screaming about MK's lead should be ashamed & they can not be relied upon. Supporting a party is one thing but after the elections, giving the wrong impression to people (even after the elections are done) is a different thing. They should n't be execused for the latter.

Krishna Reddy - I stated this already, yes one of us (not "you" in particular) is estimating terribly & blindly. Lets wait to see who that is. Nothing can be judged until 16th :)

I am also seeing the NDTv analysys live. They say that split is <1%. That means congress will get 39% votes and MK 34% votes.
Even I beleive that congress will win 153 and MIM 8.
Isn't this the same that Dappunadu did in 2004? Projecting TDP as bumper majority winner and ended up getting 45 seats (btw worst performance in history for for an incumbent government).

Prasad & Vizag - To answer your question, its simple - Eenadu may have gone wrong in 2004 with their estimates (so are many national & state media houses). But once OK, twice can be forgiven....but this time, with all that analysis & negative propaganda - They will loose credibility in my view. Now, everyone has a break point at some point - all I am saying is, this is it for me. What is so questionble about it, anyway?
I responded that way to Prasad - because his posts have been filled with caste abuse (y'day) or personal attacks, at some level.

Unlike other alcoholic beverages, taste of the wine depends on the grape rather than processing. (This is only 70% of the cases. There are some wines that add additional flavoring. Guys don't retort me with counter examples :) I am just saying this for argument sake)
Normally red wines are more sweet. Pino Noir or Pino Grigio are very sweet. Shiraz is also sweet but after you sip it and swallow it it tastes a bit like tobacco.
If you do not mind little bit of mixed wines, port wines are the best. Shangrilla/sherry are good for sweet tooth.

Lagadapati gave survey by constituency which is done by some delhi agency. He release the constitiuency list where cong wins and where tough fight exists.
He says 155 sure and 50 tough fight. But I don't see anywhere the list he released.

to tell you frankly people who have been centrally responsible with the survey are believing that they will get around 220 seats but they have gave a conservative figure in order to take minimum risk and its like putting the newspaper at too much stake which is not good for the paper in long run which i think is more imp than predicting cong getting more than 200 seats...
Sarma - Lagadapati has an E.M Affair with someone (they say a Keralite) & the third son is from that relation.
His marriage with Upendra's daughter is on the brink of falling apart, mainly due to this affair.
Most of the people in Vijayawada know this for the past year, atleast.

if what you said is true, then we should be comfortably getting 180 seats (expecting some upsets and some 10% off in the surveys) which is what sakshi might have projected...
if there is a strong wave for YSR as we all expected 1 month before elections, 200+ is not a big deal.. this is the feeling and news i had from my sources back home.. but during last 1 month there are so many promises by opposition, kootami forming, chiru splitting etc etc... anduke pessimistic ga 161 daggara settle ayyanu... if there is wave 180+ is no big deal.. if there is negative wave even then i feel minimum we get is 120 to 130... so, if there is no wave for anyone still we can form govt comfortably....
but if there is pro ysr wave and nothing stops us from a bumper majority...
pro ysr wave - 180 to 200
anti congress wave - 120
no wave for any one - 150+
this is what i feel... so pessimistic ga 162 daggara agipoyanu..
hope our estimations comes true...

I too think, Lagadapati is facing a hard batlle in Viajayawada. Caste polirization is one reason (Kapu vote split) but mainly, he got a bad impression in public due to his arrogant & controversial nature.
Moreover, In some assembly segments in Vij parliament - Congress candidates have very bad relations with him. Especially, he tried his best to avoid Malladi Vishnu (which pissed many traditional Brahmin voters) & even argued with YSR over this. So, there are rumors that congress assembly candidates themselves encouraged cross voting.
Vamsi's fresh candidature may help TDP & also Radha encouraged cross voting from PRP for Vamsi - as Vamsi is his business partner, and PRP's MP candidate is dummy & also becoz - Lagadapati is his worst enemy (eversince mayor elections).
Overall, its a very tough battle for Lagadapati. If not for Lagadapati's money power & Loksatta's split from TDP vote bank (significant in cities) - It would have been a gone case for him already.
