hi RK and All lets talk about our natonal politics. i tried to write some thing about sonia madam
Sonia Madam,(most powerful woman in the world )
"The Congress is unique. Our uniqueness arises from several basic features of the Congress`s history, its character, its ideology and the legacy of its leadership. I am convinced that the time is ripe for a massive renaissance of our political culture so that we build that society which combines compassion with competence, equity with excellence." - Sonia Gandhi.
She was named the third most powerful woman in the world by "Forbes" magazine in the year 2004. An Italian-born Indian politician, Sonia Gandhi is the widow of former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi and the President of the Indian National Congress. Being the third woman of foreign origin to hold the prestigious post after Annie Beasant and Nelli Sengupta, Sonia Gandhi also became the fifth from the Nehru family to take over the Congress reins. She is the Chairperson of the ruling United Progressive Alliance in the Lok Sabha, and the leader of the Congress Parliamentary Party. She also is the eighth person of the foreign origin to be the Congress president. Sonia Gandhi retained the post of the Leader of the Majority and the Chairperson of the UPA. This enabled her to keep political control of the party and to deal with the political fire fights in the giant coalition government while leaving the management of the country in the hands of Manmohan Singh. On March 23, 2006, Sonia Gandhi resigned from the Lok Sabha and also the chairperson`s position of the National Advisory Council. According to Indian electoral law, an elected person cannot hold an office of profit (meaning paid posts). She was re-elected from her constituency Rae Bareilly in May 2006. She played an important role in making the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and the Right to Information Act into law, as chairperson of the National Advisory Committee.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra`s role in PoliticsAlike Priyanka`s mother, she has been marked by ambiguity in politics. While campaigning regularly for the Congress Party in Uttar Pradesh, she declared to have little interest in politics. Politics is not a strong pull for her, rather the people are and she prefers to do things for them without being in politics. Although, she has hardly been in the core politics, she is seen to assist her mother and brother Rahul Gandhi for several political decisions.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra regularly visits her mother`s and brother`s constituencies of Rae Bareilly and Amethi. She is a popular figure in the constituency and draws large crowds everywhere. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is noted for her skills as a good organizer. She is a level headed woman with undisputable personality, alike her mother and grandmother. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is believed to be her mother`s chief advisor on political matters.
In the Indian general election, 2004, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was Sonia Gandhi`s campaign manager and helped in supervising her brother Rahul Gandhi`s campaign too. During the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, 2007 Rahul Gandhi managed the statewide campaign, while she focused on the ten seats in the Amethi Rae Bareilly region. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra dealt the situation skillfully and spent two weeks there trying to suppress considerable internal strife within the party workers over seat allocations. Other than a political figure, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is noted for her descent and transparent attitude, along with her down to earth nature with her countrymen.
This is what Yogendra Yadav of CNNIBN LIVE had to say about a question on AP
{vijay:Hi Yogendra, do you think congress would even cross tally of 125, after the recent happenings in Rajasthan and Negative reports from Andhra Pradesh? Yogendra Yadav: I would be very surprised if the Congress fails to cross 125. Congress allies of 2004 are taking the real hit, not the Congress itself.}
I am kind of relieved after reading this.. he was lone pundit who said that congress would suprise everyone in 2004 and prove every survey and exit poll wrong.
India desperatly need Either Rahul or PriyankaThe situation and the requirement of indian politics is also geting change has india ie growing. Because the need of this country is different from what was required in in 1960's. Every sector of this country need leaders with good qualities, since india is developing country. Same way politics as well, why india accepted Dr.Manmohan Singh has prime minister here, there is a logic behind this. Politics or politiicans are the decision makers of this nation, they require some quality , commitment, hard work, education. All this was mixed up with Dr.Singh, so people well heartedly accepted him when Sonia chosen him. Let us look on to the Rahul and Priyanka, Yes, Indian desperatly need them. Either Rahul or Priyanka to reach this position they need some change in their strategy, first they should rebuild their teams and their party because these are the people execute their ideas (Rahul n Priyanka). The team should be different from others, people want see change from these two.These two commited, educated, hard workers,potential to lead this great and complex nation. But they should start with some new idealogy, spirit. They should bring some new generation from all the field to their team. Beacuse present indian politics become muddy water from due course of time and due to some invalid netas (lalu,modi,advani,pawar,mayawati,mulaya,amar,gowda,naidu, so called communist leaders..so many). People of this great nation waiting to see the change in the indian politics. I think the only sector in this country, which not yet seen any modernisation or chnage since independence is politics. Rahul and Priyanka, should work hard, visit kashmir to kanyakumari.Needs to be more interactive with south states. If Priyanaka, contesting from any south states, whole south india will support her whole heartedly. Lots of people are waiting for the new sun raise (Priyanak n Rahul).
Anything over 160 is a bonus for Congress..though IBN is inclined towards congress their surveys are usually good...especially yogendra yadav is the best guy in business for Poll predictions..
CNN IBN is going to telecast its exit poll on 13th night. Hyderabad there is news that CNN-IBN has congress winning 160.But some are saying that is rumor. Seems Kiran prasad reddy is very confident on his source. Hope that is true.
i don't think we need to read too much in to this... its an exit poll not a final tally... it can be totally wrong even thought if the news that cnn predicted 160 is true.. so, don't worry about these exit polls guys... just 7 more days, we will have real stuff...
and my personal feeling is exit polls are done mostly in urban areas/towns/cities... but our strongest vote bank this elections is from rural areas/villages... so, i am not really bothered about any exit polls...
